So, I'm a college grad, went to a school that had an absolutely terrible career office for the business school. Really no alumni in the financial industry, unless you count Northwestern Mutual sales people. Which I don't.
Also grew up in a small midwest town, had no friends, family, or contacts of any kind in the industry. Long story short, graduated with a degree in finance, but still cannot seem to find my way in. I'm not really interested in banking, PE, VC, any of that. Trading, markets, especially fixed income, and the theories/math behind it are what really excite me. I have a true passion for these things, but that's unfortunately not enough to get you an interview these days.
Trying to figure out how screwed I am as someone who's already graduated but has no work experience. I've got a couple opportunities I'm hoping pan out right now but also being rational about this. Trying to expand my options. Thanks so much.
